Children in Care
About VACSWIM
VACSWIM is the leading South Australian Government supported initiative to provide pre and primary school aged children (aged 3 to 12 years old) with opportunities to develop a range of skills and positive experiences in the areas of water safety, confidence and competence in the water, personal survival activities and basic aquatic emergency procedures.
VACSWIM is run in 5 day blocks throughout December 2025 and January 2026 — below are the dates:
Block 1: 15/12/2025 to 19/12/2025
Block 2: 05/01/2026 to 09/01/2026
Block 3: 12/01/2026 to 16/01/2026
Block 4: 19/01/2026 to 23/01/2026
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn lifesaving water skills – which is why VACSWIM is offering free water safety and survival programs to primary school aged children in care during December 2025 and January 2026.
Children will be given the opportunity to develop a range of skills and positive experiences in the areas of water safety, confidence and competence in the water, personal survival activities and basic aquatic emergency procedures. We are pleased to announce that all children between the ages of 3 and 12 years in the care of the DCP will receive ONE free VACSWIM enrolment at their chosen location.
