"It's almost summer, time to find out what my friends with
pools have been up to since last summer!"
Summer is just weeks away and after an unseasonably cool
spring it's time for sandcastles at the beach, splashing in the
pool and getting active on the river!
Whatever your plans to keep cool this summer, we hope
VACSWIM SA classes are at the top of the list for vital water
safety, survival and swimming lessons for your children.
Registrations close 19 December (which is just around the corner!)
so register today for peace of mind that your children will be
equipped with all the skills they need to stay safe by the water
this summer.
SA Water VACSWIM Media Launch
On 15 November the VACSWIM team, along with our providers
and major sponsors, came together to celebrate the launch of our
2016-17 summer programs across the state. Hosted byChannel 9's Brenton Ragless, guests were
treated to a special presentation by Michael Morris, Director of
the Samuel Morris Foundation,
as well as talks from David Coombe from SA Waterand Neil Mackenzie of Enventive.
Together, we had the opportunity to discuss the value of water
awareness courses such as VACSWIM while we braced the cooler
weather and jumped right into the waves (safely, of
course).
We were also very excited to introduce our VACSWIM Buddy
who made his big screen debut in

Come 'N' Try
VACSWIM and Surf Life Saving SA are holding a FREE Come
'n' Try experience at the Port Noarlunga Surf Life Saving Club at
the start of December. The VACSWIM Come 'n' Try is for children
aged 5-9 years who haven't participated in a VACSWIM program
previously but would like to give it a try.

Pool And Beach Safety Tips
Before the scorching summer hits, brush up on some
essential pool and beach safety tips for
the whole family.
Regional Instructors: We Want You!
Some of our regional program locations are looking for
accredited swimming instructors to teach this summer. All VACSWIM
instructors must hold a current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and
Water Safety Certificate.
