Summer swimming lessons for South Australian kids

1 September 2016

Living in Australia, many of us have been brought up around water, rivers, dams, the beach and swimming pools. Having a great summer conjures up memories of splashing fun with friends and family.

This summer, make sure your primary school aged children get the chance to take part in one of Australia's most popular pastimes - swimming - whilst learning how to be safe in and around water.

The summer school holidays in South Australia are long and hot, so what better time to get water confident, make new friends, enjoy being active and keep cool?

If you're looking for some summer school holiday fun and the opportunity to develop your child's range of water skills, competence and safety, consider enrolling your children in the 2018/2019 VACSWIM SA program.

And the best things is, it's super affordable too. The enrolment fee is about $30 across the State whether you're participating on the coast or in a swimming pool.

It doesn't matter what level of swimming your child is up to, or even if your child has never even done a lesson before, or even been swimming before - VACSWIM has a stage for everyone, including beginners.

So what is VACSWIM?

VACSWIM SA is a Government of South Australia initiative that aims to provide opportunities for children to learn about water safety.

There are three water safety programs within VACSWIM; Swim and Survive is a Royal Life Saving Society program and takes place in swimming pools, Surf and Survive is a Surf Life Saving South Australia program and takes place on beaches, Swimming & Water Safety Course is the YMCA program and takes place in YMCA swimming pools.
