VACSWIM SA - Newsletter 1
30 August 2016
Welcome to the SA Water VACSWIM season 2016/2017! For more than
50 years we've been teaching generations of children vital safety
skills in and around the water.
SA Water VACSWIM is an SA Government-funded initiative for
primary-school aged children to develop water safety, confidence
and competence. Sessions are delivered by our wonderful primary
program providers - Royal Life
Saving Society, Surf Life
Saving and YMCA.
This year we have a new and very cute team member helping us
spread the VACSWIM message - our VACSWIM Swimming Buddy -
who will share important tips and skills for water users of all
ages.
So buddy up with us for the low-down on the water safety
education programs coming to a location near you, read up
on vital water safety advice delivered direct to your mailbox, and
equip yourself and your loved ones with the skills and confidence
to stay safe around the water this summer.
We can't wait to welcome all of our 2016/2017 SA Water VACSWIM
swimming buddies these summer school holidays!
SA Water celebrates 21 years with VACSWIM
"SA Water's annual
sponsorship program is a way for us to
strengthen our relationship
with local communities and organisations in regional and
metropolitan areas of the state. 2016-17 marks our 21st year of
sponsorship support of VACSWIM, who provide the important service
of developing water safety knowledge, competence and confidence in
South Australia children.
For the second year running, we are also partnering with Surf
Life Saving South Australia to support their beach-based aquatic
education programs.
SA Water and VACSWIM value
the importance of working with the
community and educating people about water safety. We encourage
families and schools to get
involved in one of the many 2016/17 SA
Water VACSWIM programs around our state."
