SA Water

Filling a glass of water from the tap might be a
simple act, but delivering our customers a continuous, quality
supply of water is much more involved.
SA Water's staff, infrastructure and resources
are part of the process from catchment to tap, delivering customers
200 000 megalitres of water through 26,800 kilometres of pipes
every year.
Our work begins as soon as water arrives in our
catchments. Water sources such as the River Murray, Mount Lofty
Ranges reservoirs and groundwater supplies are safeguarded in
collaboration with various management authorities.
SA Water conducts regular water testing
throughout the network to ensure our water supplies meet required
standards. Upgrades to water treatment plants across the state in
recent years have also improved supplies.
SA Water satisfies the Safe Drinking Water Act
2011 in providing high quality water supplies that meet all SA
Health guidelines.
Our nationally and internationally achievements
in water treatment, infrastructure, training and research
demonstrate a continued commitment to improving South Australia's
drinking water quality.
As well as working together, VACSWIM and SA
Water are both promoting water safety in their own distinct
ways.
