2023/24 VACSWIM Training Hubs — Community Surf Rescue

While the VACSWIM program doesn't offer official accreditation, it equips you with invaluable skills and knowledge, laying the groundwork for your venture into the aquatic industry. For those aspiring to obtain a certificate, we extend an invitation to join a VACSWIM training hub.

The Community Surf Rescue Certificate, acknowledged by the Department for Education and various Aquatic Businesses, stands as a prerequisite for supervising children in water aquatic activities.

Participants obtaining the certificate will broaden their knowledge and skills learnt within the VACSWIM program, undergoing training and assessment in water rescues, hazard identification, resuscitation, communication signals, and a 100m Run, 100m Swim, 100m Run, to be completed in under 5 minutes.

Successful completion awards two Units of Competency: PUASAR013 Participate in an aquatic rescue operation and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Noting, this certificate requires updating every 12 months through the Community Surf Rescue Certificate Update course.
