2023/24 VACSWIM Training Hubs — Community Pool Rescue

We hope you enjoying the higher awards program as part of the 2023/24 VACSWIM program.

As previously highlighted, while the VACSWIM program doesn't offer official accreditation, it equips you with invaluable skills and knowledge, laying the groundwork for your venture into the aquatic industry.

For those aspiring to obtain a certificate, we extend an invitation to join a VACSWIM training hub.

Participants obtaining the certificate will broaden their knowledge and skills learnt within the VACSWIM program, undergoing training and assessment in water rescues, hazard identification, resuscitation, communication, and all other requirements equivalent to a Pool Bronze Medallion award.

Successful completion awards two Units of Competency: PUASAR013 Participate in an aquatic rescue operation and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Noting, this certificate requires updating every 12 months through the Community Surf Rescue Certificate Update course.

By attaining this accreditation, you also pave the way to becoming a VACSWIM Assistant Instructor for Block 1 in December next year. Please CLICK HERE for full qualifications details on what is required to become a VACSWIM staff member in the 2024/25 season.
