Surf Life Saving South Australia

Surf Life Saving programs focus on beach safety skills and aquatics rescues, as well as developing confidence swimming in open water. For the purpose of the 2018 SA Water VACSWIM the "Surf and Survive" program will be offered at beach and open water sites across South Australia. This program has been specially developed for VACSWIM based on the Nipper program offered in surf life saving clubs.

Surf & Survive (Stages 1 - 10)

Participants who complete Stage 10 and are 13 years of age, can choose to take their Surf Rescue Certificate outside of the Vacswim program.  This will incur an additional assessment fee and can be arranged directly through SLSSA.  A training manual is recommended to help complete the mandatory workbook.

YMCA

YMCA Swimming & Water Safety (previously AquaSafe) is so much more than just a water safety course as YMCA believe that the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life!

Qualified and friendly teachers show children the safest way to enjoy all water activities. YMCA Swimming and Water Safety has been developed to provide the opportunity for participants to gain swimming and water safety skills together with confidence around the water. These skills will not only apply to their swimming and water safety, but can also help build positive relationships, leading to good sportsmanship and teamwork.
